  • Szeged Symposium

    12 May 2026

    The 19th Symposium Szeged was successfully held in Szeged, Hungary, welcoming nearly 1,000 participants from 28 countries around the world. This year's conference had a special Italian focus, highlighted by the outstanding presence of several renowned Italian speakers, including Prof. Giovanni Zucchelli, whose highly successful hands-on course became one of the highlights of the meeting. The opening ceremony featured welcome addresses by Prof. Dr. László Rovó, Rector of the University of Szeged; Ass. Prof. Nikolai Sharkov, President of the FDI World Dental Federation, who joined the event online; Dr. Edoardo Cavalle, President of the ERO-FDI; and H.E. Dr. Giuseppe Scognamiglio, Ambassador of Italy to Hungary. Over the course of three inspiring days, SymposiumSzeged once again provided an exceptional platform for scientific exchange, professional networking, and international collaboration in dentistry.

    President-elect of the ERO, Prof. Dr. Paula Perlea and the President of the FEDCAR (Federation of European Dental Comptent Authorities and Regulators), Mr. David O'Flynn, at the Romanian Parliament during the roundtable dedicated to the 2026 World Oral Health Day. They participated at the public debate regarding the actual status of the oral health system and the establishment of a plateform for dialogue between professionals and decision-makers.

    Geneva, 16 December 2025 – FDI World Dental Federation (FDI) welcomes the formal adoption of the Political Declaration of the Fourth High-level Meeting on the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs) and the Promotion of Mental Health and Well-being (HLM4) by the United Nations General Assembly.
